Greenwich Park tennis activities for juniors
Junior Tennis Courses
In Greenwich Park, children as young as four can discover the fun of tennis while making friends. Our junior courses, led by LTA-qualified coaches, follow the five LTA Youth stages – Blue, Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow – and use age‑appropriate play to build skills, from strokes and serving to match play, right up to age 16.
Junior Tennis Course Stages
-
LTA Youth - Blue Stage
Four to six year olds
A gentle, play‑based introduction for younger children, focusing on balance, agility and coordination. Kids get a fun first taste of tennis, learning simple movements while enjoying themselves in a supportive environment.
-
LTA Youth - Red Stage
Six to eight year olds
Children begin rallying with simple techniques and learn the basics of the game. Competitive play is introduced in a relaxed, supportive way, encouraging fairness, confidence and enjoyment rather than focusing on winning or losing.
-
LTA Youth - Orange Stage
Eight to nine year olds
At the Orange stage, juniors play real matches, serving and returning with confidence. They build tactical awareness and learn why good sportsmanship matters, developing skills that balance competitive play with respect for others.
-
LTA Youth - Green Stage
Nine to 10 year olds
Players start refining their technique. Sessions build consistency, confidence and tactical awareness, helping juniors adapt and prepare for more advanced match play.
-
LTA Youth - Yellow Stage
10 to 16 year olds
Players progress to adult‑style tennis with professional balls. They explore different styles, sharpen technique and gain independence, leaving ready for competitive matches and long‑term play.
