Hire a pedalo or a row boat to enjoy a unique perspective of Hyde Park from the water then treat yourself to a cool drink or ice cream at the end.
We're one the only lake in London that now offer electric pedalo boats for hire. The boats combine the charm of traditional pedalos with the ease of electric assistance, making them perfect for anyone who may find pedalling difficult or fancies a more leisurely sail.
Booking online isn't essential. You can simply walk up to The Boathouse on the day and book in-person.

Open from 10am. Closes at 6pm April-May; 8pm June-August; 7pm in September; Dusk in October-March.
Accessibility
Accessible boats are available, as well as a crew lift hoist. Carers go free.
Amenities
Serpentine Bar & Kitchen is just a short walk away, offering hot and cold food and drink.
Summer season
Open daily between late March and October.
Winter season
Open Wednesday to Sunday in November to March (weather dependent).

We may pause operations if poor weather conditions makes boating unsafe.
During busier times
Queues may close early in busy times to clear the lake. Check on‑site signage for last boat times.

Boat hire in Hyde Park is open throughout the year.
Open daily between late March and October. Open Wednesday to Sunday (weather allowing) November to March.*

Please note, during busier periods of the year, it may be necessary to close the queue for boats at the end of the day to allow us to clear the lake. Please refer to signage on site to see the timings of the last boat out for each day.
* Opening is weather dependant and will predominantly be Wednesday – Sunday, although this is subject to change based on the weather. In 2025, the daily service will resume from Monday 24 March.
